Olivia’s Trust COVID 19 🦠Update

This is the time of year we excitedly put out a post announcing our upcoming annual Bowling Tournament and Silent Auction fundraiser. This event has always been held the Saturday after the May Victoria Day long weekend. While we have the alley booked for May 23rd, it is currently closed due the virus 🦠. We do not know if it will re-open by this date or what social distancing will look like at that time.

We will likely have to postpone or possibly cancel our event for the safety and well-being of our supporters. We are debating whether to run some of the components such as the ever popular Craft Beer, Wine and Spirit Board and a handmade quilt raffle. Stay tuned for updates.

Olivia’s Trust still plans to award a post-secondary scholarship to a student currently set to graduate from Prince Andrew High School in June 2020. Since schools are closed and we do not know when they will re-open, it may not be possible for students wishing to apply to get their applications in to Student Services by the May 15th deadline. Therefore, if you are a student or know of a student that will graduate this year and wish to apply for our scholarship, please send your essay along with 2 letters of recommendation directly to dale@livstrust.com for consideration.

Olivia’s Trust will soon be making donations to organizations in most need that meet our mandate. Once we have made our choices, another post will go out to let you know where your support is helping during these uncertain and challenging times.

Thank you and stay safe ~ Dale, Nicole and Tom

2019 Scholarship Recipient

The Olivia Jollota Memorial Trust Scholarship is not an academic achievement based award. It is based on the quality of your character and the good you have done for your school and community through inclusion. It is about what is in your heart. And what a heart our 2019 recipient has!

Congratulations to Brody Boudreau of Prince Andrew High School for being the sole recipient of our 2019 Scholarship!

The essay Brody wrote touched our hearts so deeply that we did something unprecedented. In the past each scholarship award has been $1,000.00. Due to Brody’s incredible spirit, will to achieve, and determination to overcome every obstacle that comes his way Brody will receive $2,000.00 to help him continue his story.

Congratulations Brody as you go on your next journey. You are exactly who Olivia would have wanted in a friend. We look forward to hearing of your future success 😊
