We are so pleased to announce we have awarded a scholarship in the amount of $1000.00 to Victoria O’Brien and Jacintha (Jai) Shankle ♥️
These amazing people embody what Olivia’s scholarship is all about. Their dedication to helping others feel welcome and accepted is obvious in their every day actions. They have made their schools and communities better places through their existence and we could not be more proud to play a small role on their journey.
Good luck at St. Francis Xavier University and Acadia University in the fall. These schools will benefit from your amazing ability to be kind, compassionate, forgiving and accepting ♥️
Are you or do you know a student graduating this year in Nova Scotia who wants to pursue a post-secondary education? Consider the Olivia Jollota Memorial Trust Scholarship.
To apply, please write an essay outlining how you have made your community and school a better, more inclusive space for others. Your marks are not a consideration for this scholarship, your heart is. Please include 2 letters of reference and send your application to email@example.com 😊.
The Olivia Jollota Memorial Trust Scholarship is not an academic achievement based award. It is based on the quality of your character and the good you have done for your school and community through inclusion. It is about what is in your heart. And what a heart our 2019 recipient has!
Congratulations to Brody Boudreau of Prince Andrew High School for being the sole recipient of our 2019 Scholarship!
The essay Brody wrote touched our hearts so deeply that we did something unprecedented. In the past each scholarship award has been $1,000.00. Due to Brody’s incredible spirit, will to achieve, and determination to overcome every obstacle that comes his way Brody will receive $2,000.00 to help him continue his story.
Congratulations Brody as you go on your next journey. You are exactly who Olivia would have wanted in a friend. We look forward to hearing of your future success 😊
This wonderful young lady is the recipient of the $1000.00 Olivia Jollota Memorial Trust Scholarship and we could not be more pleased!!!
Laila’s essay embodied exactly what we were looking for in an entry. She was thoughtful, insightful and truly captured Olivia’s spirit of acceptance and forgiveness with her activities during her three years at Prince Andrew High School. She no doubt made her school and community a better place for having her in it.
Best of luck to you Laila as you embark on the next part of your life’s journey at Dalhousie University knowing Olivia is with you every step of the way. She most definitely has your back ♥
