Donation for Phoenix 2017

Next up to receive some kindness this holiday season from Olivia’s Trust is Phoenix.

Olivia’s passion was helping others, especially those less fortunate. She helped many friends who had lost their homes for various reasons so we could think of no better way to honour her memory than to give to Phoenix.

Today Olivia’s Trust donated winter coats, hats, mitts, socks, toiletries and other goodies for 6 females and 6 males 🎁

If you or your family and friends are looking for a way to donate or give back you should consider Phoenix. Go to http://www.phoenixyouth.ca for their Wish List and ways to donate.

“Phoenix is a non-profit, community based organization located in Halifax, Nova Scotia. At Phoenix we believe people matter – all people.  Since 1987, Phoenix has been dedicated to supporting youth between the ages of 11 and 24, families, and communities across multiple locations in Halifax.   Our team of caring professionals recognizes that each person who comes to us has unique needs and personal strengths. We believe that people are the leaders in their own lives; Phoenix is a leader in supporting them.

Vision

We believe that people matter. All people. We all have the right to respect, dignity, support, and the opportunity to thrive.”

All the best to you and yours this holiday season from Olivia’s Trust 🎄

Feed Nova Scotia (Holiday Donation 2017)

We are thrilled to announce one of the recipients of Olivia’s kindness this holiday season will be Feed Nova Scotia.

Olivia’s Trust is donating $750.00 to help put turkeys on the tables of those in need. We would like to send a special thank you to Jym Line Glassware Ltd. for matching our donation to make it a total of $1500.00. That means 60 families will get a turkey with the help of our donations.

We would encourage all other businesses and individuals with the means to match or exceed our donation to help ensure every family in need has a turkey to share with their loved ones on Christmas Day 🎄

Stay tuned for more donations from Olivia’s Trust this giving season 🎁

Olivia to be remembered at the Austin Blair Memorial Hockey Tournament

If you happen to be in the Tatamagouche area November 3-5 why not pop in and purchase one of these beautiful glasses or make a donation to support the 8th Annual Austin Blair Memorial Hockey Tournament.

Olivia’s Signature Tree has been given a special place of honour opposite Austin’s number on these custom decorated glasses provided by Jym Line Glassware.

Thank you to Austin’s mom and tournament organizer, Kathleen Johnson, for including Olivia at Austin’s tournament. We are truly touched to be asked and honoured to be included.

2017 Compassion and Kindness Celebrates Olivia Day 🎉

On October 23rd we will celebrate Olivia’s 21st 🎈 birthday.  Olivia loved her birthday – it was an event she started to plan from the day after her last one.

Every year we hold our “Compassion and Kindness Celebrates Olivia Day!” on October 23rd.

We encourage everyone who knew and loved Olivia, and those who have come to know her, to commit random acts of kindness and compassion in her honour. The beauty of this day is it does not matter where you are in the world, you will be able to participate on her special day.

We encourage everyone to participate. Your random act does not need to be grand or expensive – buying a coffee for a total stranger or making a donation to a local shelter or taking flowers to a seniors residence… there is no limit to what can be done in memory of a girl who was the epitome of compassion, kindness and acceptance 💞

We would love to hear what you do to celebrate Olivia on her big day. Let us know by posting on the Facebook page or commenting on this post.

(A Facebook event will be created on the Olivia Jollota Memorial Trust “Like” page.)
