Once again the Dartmouth East office will be collecting back to school supplies on behalf of the Olivia Jollota Memorial Trust.
Olivia was a wonderful young person full of dreams. She loved the anticipation of back-to-school and enjoyed helping other. Olivia’s kindness lives on through her good deeds. Help Olivia continue to do “great things!”
Let’s honour Olivia by donating school supplies in her name. You can drop off your donated items at my office 73 Tacoma Dr suite 204, Mon – Fri 9 to 4
First, let us thank each and every single person who participated in our Annual Bowing Tournament 🎳 and Silent Auction held May 25!
A massive thank you to Bowlarama for allowing us to take over the alley so we can make this event happen! Thank you to the bowlers, the bidders, those who participated in the Booze Board and 50/50. Those who bought bake table items, made donations and those who bought Olivia’s Signature Tree items! This event could not happen without you all!
Thank you to all who donated items for our Silent Auction, Booze Board and bake table. All were very popular!
Last night we raised almost $7000.00!!!
This money will go a long way as we continue our mission to help Olivia do “great things!” Olivia’s Trust scholarships will be handed out at Prince Andrew High School in June. We also plan to help Brigadoon Village send kids to Camp Kedoopsie, their bereavement camp, which had 50 kids attend with no sponsoring! We will also help send many much deserving students back to school with all the gear they need for a successful school year 😊. And that’s all before October! Thank you for helping us help keep Olivia’s memory alive 💗

Our Annual Bowling Tournament and Silent Auction Fundraiser is booked for May 25, 2019!
This fundraiser not only promises to be a great time, it is also the key way we raise the money to help Olivia continue to do “Great Things!” Through the money raised we provide post-secondary scholarships for graduating Prince Andrew High School students as well as donations to organizations that focus on our youth, animals in need and those less fortunate. Just like Liv would want.
We are now accepting items for the silent auction portion of the fundraiser – if you or someone you know would like to donate a gift basket, certificate for goods and services, gift card, hand-crafted item etc please contact us to make arrangements. We thank you in advance for your donation.
NOTE: An event post on the website and through our Face Book Page will go out closer to the date in order to book your teams for the bowling tournament. Only 14 lanes (5 people per lane/team) are available so once the post goes up reserve your lane early. We fill the lanes fast every year.
As always, we thank you for your support and participation.
Our 2018 Christmas giving did not stop with our senior community! We decided to get a little more personal with the younger generation. After a wonderful suggestion by Steve Murray, we reached out to the staff of Phoenix Youth Shelter and offered to host a pizza 🍕party and cookie decorating evening 😊. Olivia would love this!!!
On Sunday, December 16 the Trustees and volunteers brought pizza, chips, fruit and vegetable platters, juice, water and cookies along with all the fixings needed to decorate to Phoenix Youth Shelter in Halifax, Nova Scotia. We got to eat (thank you for the amazing ribs and cole slaw!) chat and share Olivia. We shared why we do what we do with some wonderful people. What a great time! We can’t even begin to explain what an honour it was. Thank you for your questions and the honest, open dialogue that followed.
A great big thank you goes out to Ragan Eagle of Sweet Eagle Bakery for donating the amazing cookies the staff and residents decorated. The delicious cookies were definitely a huge hit! We saw some pretty impressive decorating going on (there may have even been a friendly competition or two 😉)
We we also honoured to do up gift bags for the youth staying at the shelter so they have something just for them this Christmas season 🎄. We included a t-shirt and bracelet with Olivia’s Signature Tree in each bag along with some treats and day-to-day items like deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, hair ties, brushes, gloves, reusable water bottle and more! We also donated bus tickets, MacDonalds gift cards and Tim Hortons gift cards!
We love giving back to organizations that support our youth – it’s exactly where Olivia would want us to focus 💗.
Nothing makes us happier at The Olivia Jollota Memorial Trust than to give back to our community! As part of our annual Christmas Giving 🎄Olivia’s Trust was thrilled to be able to donate needed items to the Bissett Court Nursing Home on Chameau Crescent in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
So often our seniors do not have everything they need while living in care. That is where Olivia’s Trust got to step in! We were given a list of items that are most needed on a day-to-day basis and were more happy to provide everything they asked for – and then some!
If you are searching for a place to do some good this giving season why not approach a local nursing home in your community and reach out to see what they may need. Your gesture, no matter how small can mean the world to someone 😊
Allie’s Fearless IPA is no longer just a concept being bantered back and forth – it is ready for release to the public!
After about a year of discussion with Jeff Saunders of Bad Apple Brewhouse from Somerset, Nova Scotia about the style, the ingredients and the overall concept, an amazing beer has been created! Allie’s Fearless IPA is just as unique and creative and fun as Liv!
This limited release American style IPA is being described as having “the nose of Five Alive, the mouth feel of a citrus burst leaning toward grapefruit with a slightly bitter after finish. It’s a hybrid cross between a New England IPA and a West Coast IPA.” And if that description wasn’t enough to make you want to try it, we were told it is “one of the best and most unique beers ever” by someone who has sampled some already!
Allie’s Fearless IPA is available at the Bad Apple Brewhouse in Somerset (just outside Berwick), The Core in Wolfville for $7.50 a bottle (only 400 bottles).
Allie’s Fearless IPA will be on tap at Jamieson’s Irish House ($1.00 from each pour is being donated back to Liv’s Trust) and Battery Park in Dartmouth, along with Stillwell Beer Bar in Halifax. As well, Freeman’s Little New York in Halifax had a special request to have the IPA on tap for a special event for December 20!
A very special thank you goes out to Jeff Saunders and Bad Apple Brewhouse for creating something extraordinary and for always supporting the work we do at the Olivia Jollota Memorial Trust! We would also like to take a moment to thank Tom Adams at Jym Line Glassware for the incredible custom screen printed bottles featuring Olivia’s Signature Tree that will become a keepsake for most who purchase the bottle. Thank you to the Maritime Beer Report and Atlantic Canadian Beer Blog for featuring Allie’s Fearless IPA on their beer blogs this week.
Olivia is truly being honoured 💜

All money raised goes back to The Trust so we can continue our mission to help Olivia do “Great Things!”
October is finally here! And that means we are holding our annual “Compassion and Kindness Celebrates Olivia Day!”
We choose October 23 every year to hold this event on Olivia’s birthday (THE most important time of year according to Liv 😉)
This is such a simple yet beautiful way to honour Olivia and remember her compassion and kindness for others by committing random acts of kindness in your community.
Wherever you are in the world, we ask you to do something selfless for others. Buy the stranger behind you a coffee, provide socks to your local homeless shelter, help out at a local animal rescue or soup kitchen… the sky’s the limit!
Whatever you do, remember Olivia on her 22nd birthday and carry on her spirit as you make others lives brighter for a day.
Above all else, enjoy your day as Olivia would 💜
An event will be created on our Face Book page for those who would like to share what you do (you never know, you may inspire others!)
